Snorkelling Great Barrier Reef with Down Under Cruise & Dive

My Great Barrier Reef day cruise began with a mighty breakfast at Caffeind, quickly my favourite Cairns cafe, and an easy stroll through town down to the Wharf.

Evolution’s full-day reef cruise takes you aboard one of the more luxurious boats in the Great Barrier to snorkel or dive in comfort.

Having pre-purchased my ticket online, I just needed to check in with my tour operator and board the boat.

Unfortunately, I did not finish this blog at the time but picking it up a few years later I still remember the $2 wine!

I didn’t see much sea life. It was hard to tell whether this was the spot our boat chose to stop or simply a result of the effects of climate change. There did look to be quite a lot of coral bleaching where I snorkelled.

All in all, a good trip though. Nearly everything was taken care of, including lunch and I do recall a very nice atmosphere from the crew onboard!
