7 Kiwi-Approved Auckland Coffee Shops

No visit to New Zealand would be complete without enjoying some of the superb coffee that’s on offer. Maybe I’m a little bias, but I think Auckland has some of the best cafes in the country, so I’m pleased to share my top tips on where to find a New Zealand quality coffee on your next visit.

Shaky Isles

Funky laid back interiors with quality food and coffee have made Shaky Isles a popular brand among locals. Their Britomart location is especially great for taking a break while shopping or eyeing up those hot shot downtown execs.

Mondays Wholefoods

Perfect for catch ups with friends or weekday freelancers, this tranquil inner city cafe will have you feeling like you’re at a yoga retreat. For something a little different, try their Spiced Mocha and if it takes your fancy, they do actually run yoga classes in the Ivy Studio upstairs.

Ain’t got much time? This inner city situation will sort you out with just the caffeine boost you need, pronto!

Doubleshot Espresso Bar

Hop off the ferry and up the hill because anyones first stop on Waiheke Island should be Doubleshot Espresso Bar in the heart of Oneroa village. Now it’s time to slow down, you’re here! So order your Havana Coffee to “have in” their outdoor seating area and you’ll be treated to a uniquely selected ceramic mug experience.

Foxtrot Parlour

Where the rich and “famous” (in New Zealand) live and the young professionals go to hang out and drink coffee. Always well followed by some boutique browsing or a strong drink of another kind.

Remember your Keep Cup when you pop in at Eight-Thirty. Dotted around the city they’re the perfect place to go when you don’t know where to go! Uncomplicated and reliable.

Crave Cafe

If you have a little extra time to get around Auckland, check this one out not far from Kingsland. The people of Crave Cafe not only serve some of the best coffee on this planet, but all their profits go back toward the community. In more ways than one, it’s a feel good place to be.
